This is acrylic on board. This painting has been sprayed three times with non yellowing varnish and is ready to hand when received.

Psych! I guess lol

I was going to give up on live journal totally and move everything to blogger...but I guess I just really didn't give LJ a chance. I haven't joined any communities etc. on here and I'm willing to give it one more good go.

I work in the gallery tomorrow and will more than likely call my old college room mate, she's moved back to town...(I guess you can move away from your home town but it keeps calling you back : P )

She doesn't know that after college I started painting and selling my artwork on ebay...or that I'm in the gallery. ( I wasn't lying when I said I didn't paint much before... lol so it might be kind of a shock)

but moving on... here's a sneak peek at my keychains I made today and will be taking into the gallery tomorrow! I'm excitied. I think they will sell really well.

I have plans later on for this painting. I will have my first boothe in november and I think I will have a custom shirt made with this image on the back with my web address and on the front left corner "fantasy art by Valarie Wade"

oh .... you might want to know the specs. I used acrylics and pastels on acrylic paper 9 x 12 inches and sprayed with krylon varnish for paintings.

I finally got another top ten placement on artwanted.com

it's kind of a shock! It wasn't one of the two new uploads for the month. It's my second top ten and I'm happy about that : )

I love having a shop on etsy, and I'm a little to adicted to the forums and live chat rooms.

I've been checking my etsy store several times a day just to see my hearts and how many people have looked at my items.

lol

it's bad!!!

anyway, I thought I would definately start writting on the journal more often and do updates about the etsy shop, cross stitch patterns, tubing, and new paintings etc.


I'm switching back and forth between watercolors and acrylics. I ordered some more printable canvas sheets and some oil pastels. I want to come up with a very unique style. My ultimate goal!!

I forgot to say I did join the art gallery in the mall that I visited back a few months. My artwork hangs right at the entrance to the mall art gallery : ) I am now an art association member and I have all kinds of people helping me to find out about different art shows and fairs.

I will try to have a booth for the christmas fair in my town. It's held sometime in November.

ok I'm on so many sites it's not even funny!

I have my website, ebsq, artwanted, myartistprofile, etsy, myspace, and this web blog. Just keeping up with all the sites almost fills up a day.

Anyway, I gave my two weeks notice to the store I was working for and absolutely hate!! with a passion and have accepted another retail job. This will be the last one before I go back and take some computer courses this fall. The schooling that I will get has an excellent job placement system after your out so I won't be back working in retail with yet another degree.

basically I'm going to get certified in the basic computer program systems such as microsoft word, works, excell...all of that plus some webpage design. I'll get all of this done full time in four months!! I'm excited. With the certification and the BA in psychology hopefully I can get out of retail and find a job that doesn't require me to scan toothpaste or count how many packs of underwear the store has : P


Plus the city I live in hires most of its work force from the college I'm going to. ha I didn't know that was why I could find a stupid job, because I wasn't trained at the right school.


Anyway... I have been painting with acrylics and watercolors a lot lately. And I have come up with the cutiest little characters to be released to the world wide web sometime in late April or early May.

Still have over 40 ideas wrote down and more keep popping up all the time. I did order some more printable canvas sheets from dickblick and some new pastels. I'm going to try mixed media on canvas with acrylic and pastels. I think that should be really fun!

I also have set up an etsy store that I hope will start having some traffic in the next few weeks.

Today was very productive I think. I went through a local art gallery showing artist in my area with price listings etc. It is an art association that has a gallery in my cities mall. I was energized to try yet again to sell my artwork. I came home and emailed my cities chamber of commerce for fair information etc. I hope this is a step in the right direction. I want to get this show on the road! : )

I have a friend that would like to purchase a print but I decided since it's for a birthday gift I'm going an extra step and I will mat and frame is for the same price as a print un matted would sell for. I think she will be excited with how it has turned out. It's a gift for her grand daughter.

I'm also going to buy my url tonight and order some business cards. So far I'm extremely excited about the future.
